Common Problems We See

Typical Causes
A warm compartment often comes down to an evaporator fan motor that has stalled, a defrost heater or defrost thermostat that has failed and let the coil ice over, or a thermistor reporting the wrong temperature to the control board. Constant running usually points to a dirty condenser coil, a failing condenser fan, or a door that is not sealing. Sealed-system issues, such as a refrigerant leak or a weak compressor, are less common but do occur, especially on older units, and require appropriately qualified handling.
