Diagnosis Without a Code
Cove, the dishwasher from the makers of Sub-Zero and Wolf, does not present a set of consumer numeric fault codes, so a drainage problem is diagnosed by what you can observe: standing water in the tub, whether the pump is heard trying to run, and where any blockage sits. That symptom-based approach still isolates the fault reliably.
The drain path is the same as any quality dishwasher: filter and sump, drain pump, drain hose, and the sink or disposer connection.
The Checks in Order
Start with the filter and sump, since a clogged filter is the most common cause; remove and rinse it and clear debris. Check the drain hose for kinks and the air gap or disposer connection for clogs, a frequent culprit, especially if a disposer plug was left in at installation. If the path is clear and water still stands, the drain pump may be jammed by debris or failing.
Because there is no code to read, we listen to the pump, inspect the path, and test the pump directly to find the cause rather than guessing.
Cause Reference
| Check | Cause | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Filter and sump | Clogged with debris | Clean thoroughly |
| Drain hose | Kinked or blocked | Straighten or clear |
| Air gap / disposer | Clog or unremoved plug | Clear connection |
| Drain pump | Jammed or failing | Test and service |
NO Code, So Read the Symptoms
Cove does not display numeric fault codes, so note whether the pump is running and where water stands. Those observations guide the diagnosis.
